The Man Booker International Prize has released the longlist for 2019 awards today. 13 novels that celebrate the finest work of translated fictions across the globe have made it to the list.

The longlist was selected by a panel of five judges, chaired by Bettany Hughes, award-winning historian, author and broadcaster, and is made up of writer, translator and chair of English PEN Maureen Freely; philosopher Professor Angie Hobbs; novelist and satirist Elnathan John and essayist and novelist Pankaj Mishra stated the official website.

The shortlist will be announced on April 9, 2019 at Somerset House in London and the winner will be declared on May 21.
